General Description

RIGHT CHOICE Camps & Catering is looking for a Camp Maintenance Technician to work in multiple locations in Northwest Alberta. Reporting to the Service Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the structural portion of repairing, installation, and dismantling of modular industrial accommodations. The candidate must follow applicable building codes focusing on safety, quality and accuracy of work.


· Frame floors, walls, roofs, conduct exterior and interior finishing

· Fit and install doors, windows, flooring, cabinets, stairs, handrails, paneling and ceiling tiles

· Install floor beams, lay sub-flooring, erect walls and roof systems

· Assemble wood and metal products such as metal siding, window sashes, doors, door jambs.

· Repair and remodel existing structures

· Non-carpentry tasks such as snow removal, painting and some basic plumbing and electrical maintenance

· Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications

· Prepare layouts and patterns to conform to applicable building codes

· Follow all company, job and client-specific safety protocols and OH&S legislation.


· Certified Journeyman Carpenter or RV Service Technician is preferred. 3rd or 4th year apprentices will be considered

· Minimum 3 years of remote camp installation and maintenance is preferred.

· Valid class 5 driver’s license

· Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with modular buildings is an asset

· Ability to work physically and regularly lift up to 50 lb.

· Ability to work independently and as a part of a team

· Attention to detail, accuracy and strong interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills

· Ability to multi-task and effectively manage time to meet required project deadlines

· Ability to interact professionally with customers and co-workers

· Strong focus on safety, quality of work and environmental awareness

· Ability to travel from our Edmonton office and work within Western Alberta on a 14 day on and 7 day off rotation which includes nights, weekends and holidays.
