General Description

Position Summary

The Facility Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the facility including interaction with clients at the project manager level, daily relationship with guests, Department Head supervision, general staff oversight, quality assurance and daily operations reporting. Working in a remote camp location the Facility Manager will work a rotational schedule with occasional Overtime and will also require on call availability.

 

Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Development of a professional atmosphere within the facility
  • Has a complete understanding of facility operations while achieving profit targets
  • Ensuring quality staff are trained while providing leadership & coaching direct reports
  • Lead site team towards meeting performance standards and expectations while ensuring productivity goals are met
  • Developing and maintaining superior customer relations
  • Ensure and Deliver quality product and service in all areas of the facility
  • Ensure employee developmental requirements are identified and appropriate plans of actions are implemented.

Operational

  • Ensure the effective utilization of camp facilities by developing strategies to optimize all aspects of the operation.
  • Guide Department Heads in the identification and achievement of the organizations goals and objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Ensuring compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Ensure camp and company assets are maintained

Administrative

  • Understands HACCP and company approved methods of stock rotation; using the First In First Out method (FIFO)

  • Reviews and authorizes all employee time sheets
  • Ensure timely and accurate billing reports are submitted.
  • Review financial reports, recognizing variances and providing corrective actions to achieve budget.

Safety

  • Works in a safe and responsible manner
  • Belief in a safety first work environment
  • Ensure that all site employees complete daily FLRA in an accurate and effective manner
  • Must maintain personal cleanliness and hygiene and promote a professional image

Qualifications

 

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the hospitality industry
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Facility Manager or in hospitality management
  • Experience in the Camps & Catering and/or oil and gas industry is an asset
  • Education in hotel or restaurant management preferred
  • Red Seal certification as a chef preferred
  • Advanced Food Safe certification, WHMIS and First Aid with CPR certification preferred
  • Must be literate in the English language with reading and writing competency
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs  
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers license with a clean abstract
