General Description

RIGHT CHOICE Camps & Catering is looking for a Journeyman Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic to work in various locations in Northwest Alberta. Reporting to the Service Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the refrigeration portion of repairing, installation, and dismantling of all cooling equipment in the modular structures. The candidate must follow applicable building codes focusing on safety, quality and accuracy of work.

Responsibilities

  • Install & repair kitchen, roof top, walk in equipment
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications
  • Prepare layouts and patterns to conform to applicable building codes
  • When required assist in unloading trucks and maintain site landscaping required of the season
  • Follow all company, job and client-specific safety protocols and OH&S legislation.

Qualifications

  • Certified Journeyman Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic is preferred.  3rd or 4th year apprentices will be considered
  • Minimum 5 years of direct related experience.
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with commercial kitchen equipment is an asset
  • Must have Fall Protection, Confined Space/Monitoring, Elevated Work Platform, CSTS and Standard First Aid with CPR
  • Ability to work physically and regularly lift up to 50 lb.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and strong interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task to meet project deadlines and interact professionally with customers and co-workers
  • Strong focus on safety, quality of work and environmental awareness
  • Ability to travel and work within Western Alberta on a 21 day on and 7 day off rotation which includes nights, weekends and holidays.
